NECSL (Div 1) Johnstown 2 Parkvilla 2
Saturday 22 November 2008
Villa can count themselves unlucky not to take maximum points from this exciting 'derby game'. They dominated for long periods and created most of the clear cut chances. Leading scorer Alpha Fadiga took advantage of some indecision in the home defence to lash home a well deserved opener. The home team levelled in the first half and went ahead when the sides turned around. Midfielder Ryan Murphy put the visitors back on terms following excellent work by fullback Dylan McMahon down the left wing. With the sides finely balanced James Lanney in the Villa goal produced a brilliant save to earn his team a share of the spoils. Best for the lads in 'claret and blue' were Tyler Fallon, Chris O'Neill. Eoin Kelly and Paul Foy.
Team: James Lanney, Ronan Smyth, Chris O'Neill, Tyler Fallon, Dylan McMahon, Eoin Kelly, Ryan Murphy, Paul Foy, Ross O'Callaghan, Liam Migirr, Alpha Fadiga. Reserves: Kenny Ducie for Smyth, Colin Kepekepe for Migirr.

Saturday 15 November 2008
Villa lined out with the under 12 'keeper and centre back in their starting eleven due to illness and injury. They were one goal down at half-time after they went very close to scoring on a number of occasions. Top scorer Alpha Fadiga levelled the match midway through the half and shortly afterwards the same player hit the side-netting with a fierce drive. Colm Honan in the visitors goal was confident and assured throughout and didn't look out of place in his first game at a higher age group. Centre backs Tyler Fallon and Gragham Nelson had outstanding matches for Villa as had striker Liam Migirr.

Travelling without the services of some of their 'big guns' Villa were always on the backfoot against the home team. Liam Migirr was on target for the visitors in the first half and Colin Kepekepe added the second but overall they never got going as a unit. Ryan Murphy in midfield was outstanding and was supported by Chris O'Neill, Alpha Fadiga and James Lanney who excelled between the posts.

Saturday 1 November 2008
The Navan lads were always in control of this well contested, skillful game. Leading scorer Alpha Fadiga got his side off the mark with a fine drive and centre back Chris O'Neill added a second when he knocked the ball over the line following a corner kick. Ross O'Callaghan steered in the third before Paul Foy completed the first half scoring from the penalty spot. (HT 2-4).
The second half was more of the same from Villa . They attacked constantly and although Ryan Murphy didn't get on the score sheet the stylish midfielder was at the heart of every move by the boys in Claret and Blue. Of all the goals scored and there were twelve in total, Colin Kepekepe's second effort was an exceptional goal. He received the ball just inside his opponents half and set off on a run that took him past four defenders before he found the net with skill and composure. Fadiga, who completed his hat-trick could have had a bagfull but was denied by some good defending. Best for the winners were Ryan Murphy, Tyler Fallon, Dale McCann and Liam Migirr.

The home team raced into a two goal lead in this all action, six goal thriller. Villa got off the mark with a fantastic solo goal from Ryan Murphy. There didn't seem to be any danger when he received the ball thirty yards out from the home goal but he set off on a run that took him past four tackles before he calmly picked his spot. A brace of goals from striker Alpha Fadiga put the Navan lads further in front. Celtic refused to lie down and rallied well to restore parity. NECSL (Cup Semi-Final) Parkvilla 2 Torro United 1
Saturday 12th April 2008
An entertaining game took place at Claremont on a slippy pitch; The visitors took the lead in the first half following a defensive lapse in the 'villa defence and held out to half time despite some major pressure by the 'villa lads. HT: 0-1.
Dean Hosie got the all important equalising goal back just after restart and from then on 'villa piled on the pressure looking for a second with Hosie striking the woodwork with a powerful 30 yard strike.
The breakthrough 'villa had been looking for eventually came from Omorejor with a neat goal which turned out to be enough to take 'villa through to the Final but to be fair to Torro they got behind the 'villa defence a number of times but just lacked the killer touch to finish them off.
Best for 'villa were: S. Reilly, D. Hosie and S. Corkery.
Parkvilla Squad : J. Slevin, S. Byrne, S. Corkery, C. Chaney, D. O'Kane, D. Hosie, S. Reilly, K. Zeberex, D. Gismondi, I. Omorejor, D. Freeman, F. McDonagh, V. Zhdanko and S. Dunniece.
