Norman was also a great friend & sponsor of Parkvilla and was always to the fore whenever the club needed support. Norman is reposing at the family residence in Johnstown tonight (Tuesday) and his funeral mass will be held on Wednesday in Johnstown Church at 1pm with burial afterward to Kilcarn Cemetery. Parkvilla FCNavan Town Council Host A Civic Reception In Honour of Parkvilla

Last night (Wednesday 17 Oct) a Civic Reception was held in the Town Hall to honour the achievements of Parkvilla FC since 1966. Mayor Christy Reilly thanked the club on behalf of the Members and the People of Navan for all the work we have done for the young people of Navan and the honour we have brought to the Town over the years. In his reply Eamon Smyth (Chairman) thanked the Mayor, Members and People of Navan for bestowing such an honour on the club. He reminded them that it was through the hard work of many volunteers over the years that enabled the club to do what it has. He added that Navan Athletic Club also deserve a lot of praise for their help in building one of the best facilities in the North East at Claremont Stadium. He thanked everyone who has played a part in the history of the club and had a special mention for those members and friends whom have passed away over those years. Eamon, on behalf of the club, accepted a memento of the occasion from the Mayor and this will be on display at the club in the near future.
